The Museum of Art has accompanied Charles Wyrsch, born 1920 in Buochs, with exhibitions since 1964. The current presentation, placing him in a spatial and artistic proximity to the Expressionists from the Donation Minnich, combines his most recent nudes, done in oil on metal, with selected earlier paintings. Two remarkable series of drawings with self-portraits and portraits of his wife Edith provide the bracket linking his contemporary works to his earlier art. The pages testify to Wyrschs highly expressive powers of observation, while at the same time radiating a touching intimacy.
